I pray that out of his glorious richness he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being…” Ephesians 3: 16
In 2015, I was offered a job with a local Labor and Delivery unit as a Registered Nurse. I accepted this position with so much excitement, but had no idea how much of an impact this “yes” would have on my life.
Over the next 3 years, I cared for women throughout their labor, birth, and postpartum journeys. My love for women’s health grew significantly throughout this time, and I started to have realization after realization: women wanted options; women wanted control over the decisions concerning their bodies and their babies; women wanted information, education, and empowerment.
In 2018, I graduated from Frontier Nursing University with a Nurse Practitioner degree, specializing as a Certified Nurse Midwife. I worked hospital midwifery assisting moms and caring for them in the hospital setting for a few years. During this time I also obtained my Doctor of Nursing Practice.
In 2020, during my third pregnancy, I felt a shift stirring within myself: I wanted a different experience with this birth - I wanted options, control, and empowerment. I would have never imagined that at 28 weeks pregnant, my husband and I would be searching for alternative birthing options. I researched home births, and felt a distinct calling to birth our baby at home. We ultimately decided to consult a home-birth midwife who lived a little over an hour away from us. After many conversations, praying, and consulting with our birth team we made the decision to transfer care and plan for a home birth. We had so much peace about this change of plans. I honestly had no idea how God was about to use this pregnancy and birth to change my entire life, my career and my heart.
To say that this experience changed us is an understatement. I truly wish all women could feel what I felt that morning, as I held our fresh baby girl in the birthing pool in my home - my husband by my side and the early morning sun peaking through our kitchen window; my birthing team present, but uninterrupted; my older children asleep down the hall, not yet knowing they were about to wake up to a new sister.
I will never forget the peace I felt in that moment: the intimacy and emotions of meeting our baby girl for the first time without any chaos, tasks, or agendas. It was simply our time to bond, and things moved at our pace. Something that wasn't available during our first two births; something we didn't know we were missing until we experienced it.
This experience ultimately ignited a fire within me - the desire to help facilitate this experience for other women. I have since then pursued my Certified Professional Midwife degree, which specializes in facilitating, assisting, and supporting home births. It is my belief, that all women should have access to this kind of peace, care, and intimacy. I am honored and blessed to stand with women in these most miraculous moments.
In 2023 we also welcomed our fourth baby at home. You can read all about his amazing birth here….. Moxx’s Birth Story

My journey into the world of birth began when I was just a young girl.
My mother, a strong advocate for natural birth and breastfeeding, normalized these experiences in our home. I was fortunate enough to witness the births of all three of my younger sisters, and by the time I was 11, after the birth of my second sister, I knew in my heart that I wanted to become a Labor & Delivery nurse. A year after graduating high school, I followed that passion and enrolled in an Associate Degree Nursing program, starting my studies in the Fall of 2012. Life, however, had its own beautiful plans.
In January of 2013, I married my high school sweetheart, and shortly afterward, we discovered we were expecting our first child. With this new chapter, I made the heartfelt decision to step away from the Nursing program to focus on nurturing my own baby, with the intention of returning to my studies later on. The birth of my first baby was a transformative experience that completely shifted my perspective on birth. I knew that for our next child, I wanted a more natural approach. In 2017, after a year of trying to conceive and enduring a heartbreaking miscarriage, my husband and I were blessed to learn that we were expecting our rainbow baby.
At the time, we were living in the DFW area of Texas, where midwifery was both legal and celebrated. I began my care with midwives at a birth center, but halfway through the pregnancy, we had to relocate back to the Wiregrass area. In a place where out-of-hospital midwives were scarce, I found myself anxious about returning to a hospital setting. It was then that I met two doulas who would change my life forever. Their support during my son's birth was pivotal, and it was in that moment I realized that this was the way I wanted to serve women—guiding them as they brought new life into the world. But I knew it wasn’t yet the right time to start my career in birth work, as my precious rainbow baby required constant care after an undetected heart condition was discovered when he was just 4 weeks old.
Fast forward to 2019, when we found out we were expecting another baby. By then, Midwife Jordan had returned to the area, offering her care at a local hospital in Florida. I knew immediately that she would be my provider. The labor and delivery of my third son was an incredibly empowering experience, even amidst the challenges of the Covid pandemic. A few months after his birth, I felt the call to action and joined Mama’s Friend Birth Services, officially beginning my journey as a doula. Not long after, I started training as a birth assistant with With Women Midwifery.
The summer that followed was full of surprises, including an unexpected moment when I ended up catching my nephew at the ER registration desk. This event ignited a fire within me that I never knew existed. I truly believe it was God's way of showing me that midwifery was the path He had intended for me all along. I enrolled in midwifery school and was privileged to learn from Midwife Jordanover the course of the next few years. In October 2023, I graduated from a MEAC-accredited Midwifery College, obtained my Certified Professional Midwife credential in November, and became a Licensed Midwife in the state of Alabama in December of 2023. I believe that midwifery is not just a profession but a calling and a ministry. Just as motherhood is a calling and a ministry. My role as your midwife is to walk this journey with you, to educate and empower you, to pray for you, and to glorify God in every step we take together.
Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one's youth.
Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. Psalm 127:3-5
